 DVD release of "Come Marry Me" (Oyome ni oide) available 8/13th

Kayama is celebrating the 50th Anniversary since his debut by releasing
a special 128 page photo book, which also includes a DVD of Ishirō
Honda's "Oyome ni oide". (by Toho Co., Ltd. / \6500 incl. tax)
The film "Oyome ni oide" will be released on DVD on its own by Toho on 9/23rd.

showing on Nippon Movie Channel during the month of May will be
"Atragon" as Vol. 4 of the channel's Tokusatsu Okoku Special -
Gohten-go version. Movies featuring the super weapons called
'gohten-go' will be featured during this special, including "The War In
Space", "Zero Hour", "Memory of the Ocean", "Godzilla Final Wars", and
"Negadon".
THE HUMAN VAPOR" THEATRICAL SHOWING 4/11-17th
"The
Human Vapor" will be shown at the Laputa Asagaya in Tokyo from April
11th (sun) - 17th (sat). This is a great chance to go see one of
Honda's masterpieces in a theater.

A 2009 stage production of The Human Vapor will be braodcast on NHK on February 26, 2009.
May 5, 2009 - Ishiro Honda films to be shown at the Yamagata
International Documentary Film Festival 2009 Pre-Event - Saturday, June
20th:

The Human Vapor
Matango
This
film festival is a well-known Yamagata event, held every odd numbered
year. The 2009 festival is a 'pre-event' followed by the 2011 festival
for Ishiro Honda's centennial anniversary.
Location: Cybele Arena & Chihitsudo Bunko, Yamagata
Author Hisashi Inoue will be attending the festival on June 20th at 2:30pm.
The director's son, Ryuji Honda is also planning to attend.

February 24, 2009 - Today, a special issue of Figure King (Issue #133)
goes on sale, commemorating the 55th anniversary of the original
Godzilla. Contents include talk sessions and interviews with the
original staff and cast, including Assistant Director Koji Kajita (also
one of our website staff), Yoshio Irie from the SFX art and design
team, as well as Godzilla personalities Teruyoshi Nakano, Koichi
Kawakita, Kenji Suzuki, Eichi Asada, Takashi Shimizu, Haruo Nakajima
(the original Godzilla suit actor), Katsuhiko Sasaki, and more.
