Master art director Yasuyuki Inoue (born 1922) began work with Toho in 1948. He worked on movies at Toho through Godzilla 1984. He has since retired but keeps an extensive collection of his artwork in his studio. Over the course of his career he designed many memorable treasures of Japanese Science Fiction's Golden Age such as Atragon, the Markalite from the Mysterians and Moonlight SY-3.
During the time Mr. Inoue spent with Toho, his work was regarded as highly original and technical.
